Base Salary:
From $76563.25 up to $83371.29 (plus superannuation leave loading and salary sacrifice opportunities).Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Summary:
The Casework Assistant Leaving Care provides direct support to the Leaving Care team supporting young people aged 15 to 18 years of age.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Leaving Care Team with day-to-day casework and program delivery.
- Facilitate yearly leaving care planning programs and engage young people.
- Assist with finalising Behaviour Support Plans ensuring signatures and compliance.
- Audit and maintain Children and Young People (CYP) files life story work and essential documentation.
- Attend case plan meetings prepare minutes and document team meetings.
- Provide support to CYP including external appointments transport family time supervision and general supervision.
- Liaise with families carers stakeholders and caseworkers.
- Prepare high-quality reports case notes and other documentation in line with organisational standards.
- Ensure records are accurate up-to-date and compliant with Narang Bir-rong policies and Aboriginal client rights.
- Collect and monitor program data to support evaluations and reporting.
- Monitor child protection issues and act in accordance with NSW Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.
- Be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of children young people and carers.
Qualifications:
- Aboriginality is a genuine qualification under the Anti-Discrimination Act.
- Valid NSW Drivers license
- Probity checks including NSW Working with Childrens check & National Police Check
- Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination
- Qualifications in Community Services or experience in a relevant field or undertaking a similar course.
- High level of oral and written communication skills and demonstrated report writing and use of Microsoft office programs including word excel PowerPoint etc.
- High level of systems management including filing systems psychical and online.
- Experience of knowledge in child and family welfare and in foster care or a related area of alternate care for children is desirable although not essential.
- Experience in working in partnership with Community Services and other services/agencies to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people
- Knowledge of issues surrounding abuse and neglect of children and the impact of trauma and children protection
- Varied professional and general life experience.
- Mature outlook and well-developed communication skills.
