Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Learning Designer for the Ethical Use of AIto join the Te Kōtuinga Mātauranga - Centre for Academic Development team on a 12-month fixed-term full-time contract.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide learning design of courses and learning experiences facilitating the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Develop and maintain resources on the impact of AI on pedagogy and its impact on learning and teaching practices including the impact of AI on academic integrity.
  • Communicate knowledge of established emerging and experimental AI learning technologies and methodologies.
  • Contribute towards and promote scholarship of the ethical use of AI in learning and teaching.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated customer-focused individual who can take the initiative provide excellent advice and support to University staff and create compelling learning materials supporting the ethical and inclusive use of artificial intelligence.

Key requirements:

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools particularly GPTs such as CoPilot or ChatGPT.
  • Experience in modern/digital online modes of delivery and instructional design methodologies.
  • Knowledge of current pedagogical theories.
  • Proven experience in the use of digital technologies for teaching and learning preferably in the tertiary sector.
