Our Service is seeking applicants for our Records Unit that have positive attitudes are self-starters and team players for any of the positions outlined below.


The following positions in the Records Unit perform these key responsibilities:


The Records Customer Service Specialist is accountable for providing reception duties and quality customer service to the public in person and over the phone. The Specialist will conduct police record checks on internal and external applicants accept FOI requests Routine Disclosure requests Record Suspension requests and a variety of other requests relating to the Records office.


The Trial Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all trials for Brantford Police Service court appearances. The Scheduler will communicate with all internal and external stakeholders to complete the scheduling process.

The Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) Specialist is responsible for reviewing analyzing and classifying police reports compiling statistics and preparing reports in accordance with established Statistics Canada guidelines.


The CPIC Operator is responsible for entering and maintaining information on the Canadian Police Information System (CPIC) and responding to requests for information in accordance with RCMP and BPS policies and procedures.


The Criminal File Update Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely entry maintenance and quality of data in police information systems. This includes ongoing updates to court dispositions and the proper retention and destruction of criminal records.


The Crown Disclosure Specialist is accountable for the preparation collation and review of Crown Brief and additional disclosure requirements information and documents for Crown Attorneys. The position creates and prepares relevant documents and ensures that the required documents are received for court purposes.


The Disclosure Specialist is responsible for receiving researching compiling and responding to requests including but not exclusive to Court Motions Court Orders Routine Disclosure requests. The Disclosure Specialist will be expected to attend Criminal Court Civil Court and Tribunals.


The Data Quality Control Analyst is responsible for assisting positions within the Records office as required as well as assisting with work backlogs. Assigned duties will also be required.


Successful candidates require experience knowledge and skill in the areas of:


  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook Windows-based operating systems and computerized records management/database software experience.
  • Proficiency in data entry in a computerized environment is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Good organization and planning skills due to fast paced work demands
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to solve problems using policies procedures and legislation to ensure accurate information is captured
  • Provide customer service in a professional and respectful manner via in-person telephone or e-mail
