Job Summary
The Community Work-Study Assistant for Accessibility Support will play a key role in helping Accessible Education Services ( AES ) connect students with disabilities to the resources they need for equal access. This position involves hands-on interaction with students including checking in to ensure they understand their accommodations verifying that course materials are accessible and assisting them in connecting with other campus supports including peer tutoring. The role will also include supporting the use of assistive technologies converting documents to accessible formats and providing reading services as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be enrolled in a degree program and eligible for Federal Work-Study funding (contact for more information). Ability to follow structured guidelines work independently and communicate clearly. Consistent availability during regular hours to meet student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or interest in working with assistive technology such as screen readers or text-to-speech tools or familiarity with digital content creation and formatting for accessibility. Commitment to accessibility and inclusivity with a desire to support students with disabilities in achieving equal access to educational resources.
