The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. RN/Charge Nurse - NOW ELIGIBLE FOR A $7500 SIGN-ON BONUS.

To be eligible for a sign-on bonus the candidate must not have worked as a probationary permanent or time-limited employee under the State Human Resources Act in the last 12 months.

Salary Range: $Annually

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing principles and techniques to include physical assessments clinical judgments treatment planning and evaluation

Key Responsibilities:

• Employees in this role are responsible for managing and supervising daily nursing care on an assigned shift or assigned area or in a preceptor role coordinating all licensed and non-licensed staff.

• Work includes conducting needs assessments developing implementing and evaluating treatment plans and providing patient care and education to offenders in a state correctional facility.

**This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.

    Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of nursing experience.
