Job Summary:

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the companys accounts receivable function including billing collections cash application customer credit management and AR reporting. This role ensures timely compliance with internal controls and consistent application of credit and collection policies. The AR Manager will lead process improvements support audits and partner cross-functionally with Sales and Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the full accounts receivable cycle including invoicing cash application collections deductions and dispute resolution.
Lead coach and develop the Accounts Receivable team to ensure accuracy efficiency and consistent performance.
Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collections and proactively address delinquent balances.
Establish enforce and continuously improve credit and collections policies and procedures.
Review and approve customer credit limits; partner with Sales and Finance to mitigate credit risk.
Prepare and analyze AR aging reports DSO metrics and collection performance trends and present findings to leadership.
Coordinate resolution of customer deductions short pays and pricing discrepancies.
Ensure accurate application and reconciliation of daily cash receipts including ACH wire lockbox and credit card payments.
Support internal and external audit requests related to accounts receivable and cash controls.
Collaborate with Accounting on month-end close activities including AR reconciliations and allowance for doubtful accounts.
Identify and implement process improvements automation opportunities and best practices to strengthen controls and efficiency.
Serve as a point of escalation for complex customer issues and high-risk accounts.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Experience and Education Required:

Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes credit management and internal controls.
Solid understanding of GAAP as it relates to revenue recognition and receivables.
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated leader with a continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounts receivable experience.
Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems reporting tools and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
Experience in food distribution manufacturing or high-volume environments preferred.
