Casual Restaurant and Hospitality Manager

About the Role

This is a casual flexible position focused on managing restaurant and hospitality areas within Chepstow Racecourse. As a restaurant and hospitality manager youll take ownership of service delivery team performance and operational efficiency across your designated area.

What Youll Do

  • Lead motivate and support your team to deliver consistent high-quality service.
  • Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and professional attentive experience.
  • Brief train and develop team members so theyre confident and event-ready.
  • Manage staffing levels break schedules and shift planning on the day.
  • Maintain stock levels assist with rotation and minimise wastage.
  • Uphold excellent standards of cleanliness and compliance across Health & Safety COSHH and licensing requirements.
  • Resolve customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Create a positive energetic atmosphere for both guests and staff.
  • Drive sales upselling opportunities and overall business performance.
  • Delegate tasks clearly to ensure smooth efficient service delivery.

What Were Looking For

  • Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within fast-paced environments.
  • Confident leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and customer service standards.
  • Flexible adaptable and committed to delivering first-class experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges calmly.
  • Professional well-presented and guest-focused at all times.
  • Experience using tills and PDQ machines.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Desirable Experience

  • Background in premium F&B events or restaurant management.
  • Knowledge of licensing food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Personal Licence Holder (advantageous).
  • Strong organisation planning and systems skills.
  • Track record of increasing sales and improving operational standards.
  • Natural ability to motivate teams and encourage positive working culture.
