The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills to clearly convey detailed information to individuals with varying levels of familiarity with campus procedures insurance terminology loss control techniques state regulations and potential outcomes. Additionally they must be able to objectively analyze facts and in collaboration with university managers legal counsel and other stakeholders develop effective risk management strategies and recommendations that support the Universitys interests.

Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
Bachelors Degree required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible risk management experience including claims management experience required.
Preferred:
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) National Professional Designation or Designation as a Certified Risk Manager (CRM).
Risk Management experience in the public sector.
Valid CA drivers license.
Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
