Job Summary

Insulator 1st Class

Location: Guam

Start Date: Jan 19 (3040 day project)

Hourly Rate:$26/hr $2 differential

Schedule: Day Shift - 7/10s

Scope: Vent duct insulation for mess and berthing spaces

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This positionis responsible forthe following: Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Laborers must be familiar with the duties of other craftworkers and with the materials tools and machinery they use. All workers in a team must collaborate to carry out assigned construction tasks efficiently.

  1. Perform general clean-up work such as:

  • Sweeping

  • Mopping

  • Repairing

  1. Prepare andmaintaina clean work area at production/constructionsites.

  1. Before performing any hot work inspect the area to ensure that all flammable and combustible materials have been removed.

  1. Delivering all safety equipment (includingappropriate fireextinguisher) to site.

  1. Staying stationedinthe worksite such thatthey can respond quickly to prevent fires.

  1. Conduct frequent inspections of the hot work areas during hot work to ensurethe areais stillsafeand working conditions are favorable.

  1. Assistfitters and welders with setting up equipment like torch hoses extensioncordsand welding lines before hot work begins.

  1. Conducting frequent inspections of the hot work areas during hot work to ensureareais still safe and working conditions are favorable.

  1. Reporting fires and accidents to the officer of the deck and Firewatch Coordinatorimmediately.

  1. Remainingin place for thirty minutes following work performed to cleanthe areaand to ensureworksiteconditionsremainsafe.

Required Education & Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  1. One or moreyears experienceinIndustrialand/or marine industry preferred.

Working Conditions:

  1. Regular exposure to all weather conditions especially hot humidand /or rainy weather combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

  1. Most construction laborers do physically demanding work. Some work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions.

  1. Must wear hearing eye and other necessary protective equipment.

  1. Some climbing (100 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.

Necessary Equipment Operation:

  1. Standard PPE

Special Skills:

  1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  1. High performance anda strongteam player.

  1. Laborers need manual dexterity eye-hand coordination good physical fitness a good sense of balance and an ability to work as a member of a team.

  1. Ability to carry out directives effectively and ontime.

  1. Having a desire toassistand clean up without the need for direction.
