Description
The Calibration Technician performs calibrations repairs and quality checks on Army medical and logistical equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with DoD standards. This role supports equipment reliability mentors junior staff and contributes to quality assurance efforts in a technical hands-on environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform calibrations verifications and certifications of a wide range of Army medical and logistical TMDE in accordance with established procedures accuracy requirements and military/industry standards
Apply calibration methods and measurement science to analyze error sources test accuracy ratios and uncertainty of results to ensure equipment reliability
Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in complex measurement and diagnostic equipment using schematics block diagrams technical manuals and software diagnostics
Repair equipment as required. Equipment requiring repairs shall be returned with all necessary calibration and Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) actions completed
Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices in calibration principles technical problem-solving and DoD quality assurance procedures
Support the Quality Control program by identifying nonconformities analyzing data trends conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions
Interpret technical data engineering drawings and schematics to determine calibration requirements and ensure compliance with Army maintenance standards
Inspect TMDE for preventive maintenance cleanliness and safety and document results through authenticated calibration certificates and correction charts
Complete all assignments in strict adherence to DoD regulations technical manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associates degree in electronics engineering technology calibration technology or a related technical field Programs are typically offered at community colleges or technical schools and may include coursework in circuitry metrology and engineering
Minimum 2 5 years of related calibration or metrology experience (may substitute equivalent military training or experience for degree requirements)
Knowledge of calibration principles measurement science and DoD calibration policies
Experience with computer-controlled diagnostic and analytical systems
Proficiency in the use handling and care of calibration and measurement standards
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and calibration management software
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong organizational time management and communication skills
Additional technical certifications in calibration or electronics preferred
Hands-on experience with TMDE calibration in a military or biomedical environment preferred
Experience with calibration software preferred
Prior experience supporting Department of Defense or medical logistics contracts preferred
Previous customer service or technical support experience preferred
Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa.
Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
Salary
$ 28.00 to $ 31.45 per hour
$ 58240.00 to $ 65416.00 annualized

Work is performed in a technical hands-on environment that may include calibration laboratories maintenance shops medical facilities warehouses and occasional field locations supporting Army medical and logistical operations.
Primarily works indoors in controlled shop settings with some exposure to operational or field environments as mission requirements dictate.
Regular interaction with precision measurement equipment diagnostic tools computers and calibration standards.
Work is conducted in compliance with DoD regulations safety requirements quality assurance standards and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Frequent collaboration with engineers quality personnel military customers and other technicians including mentoring and training junior staff.
May require travel up to approximately 15% to support off-site calibration inspections audits or customer requirements.

Visual acuity sufficient to read technical manuals schematics calibration data and computer displays including close-up and detailed work
Ability to bend stoop kneel crouch or reach as necessary to inspect calibrate or repair equipment
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills required for detailed technical adjustments and measurements
The role may occasionally require working near moving mechanical parts electrical equipment or test signals and adherence to established safety practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
