Salary: $60000- 65000 annually (pro-rated for partial years)

Position Summary
Reporting to the Production Manager the Producer will provide production support to Programming Planning and Designand theThird-Party Events teamsfor projectsand eventslocated both on-site at The Bentway operated spaces (Phase 1 Site at 250 Fort York Blvd and The Bentway Studio at 55 Fort York Blvd) as well as off-site in locations operated by various Producer will play an important role in building strong communications and relationships with local and international artists fabricators and suppliers technical partners partnerorganizations and role is best suited for applicants with experience in art project management planning and installing large scale art and executing events. It is not a video media or content production role.
This is a hybrid role with 2 days in office and 3 days work from home. Additional days in office/on-site may be required.

Responsibilities
Project Development
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of projectsfromtheinitialproposaltothe installation andultimatelythestrikeandsustainable afterlifeof project the project aligns with the organizations quality standards vision and budget.
- Assess projects todetermineandprocureall relevant project materials suppliers and crew.
- Coordinate recurring meetingswithartistsdesignersfabricatorsand engineerstodevelopthe design and artistic intent of the project ensuring safety and feasibility.
- Liaise with fabricators engineerstechniciansand production suppliers todeterminetechnical needs / costs for proposed and confirmed programming.
- Using templates provided issue and collect supplier contracts.
- Conduct prototyping exercisesto test and refineinstallation methods learn how the project interacts with its environment provide samples to the artist forapprovals andensuretheoverallsuccessof the project.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to developrun of shows load-in/out schedulesbudgets submitpurchase orders and invoices and track and reconcile expenses.
- Secure any necessary permitspermissionsandstampedengineering drawingswhenrequired.
- Create drawings and 3D models of projects as a means of working through the design process.
- Review shop drawings to ensure accuracy and fidelity with the artist and/or designers intent.
- Liaise with partners to support local off-site projects including supporting the development of site agreements and maintenance and operations plans.
- Develop andmaintainthe critical pathsofmultipleprojectsandproductionschedules to ensureprojects are completed on time and on budget throughcoordination with various departmentsproject partnersand external stakeholders.
- Assessthe risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them for the whole lifecycle of projects including the development of safe workplans for safe install and strikeinspectionand maintenance procedures etc.
- Develop operation manuals and troubleshooting documents for projects as needed.
Project Execution
- Oversee the installation of assignedprojects ensuringThe Bentwayshealth and safety protocols are beingobservedand that all crews have the equipment needed to execute projects safely.
- Arrange forappropriate staffingto supportThe Bentwaysin-house programs ensuring volunteer and/or staffing calls are sent out in advance so that staff can be booked with at least twoweeks notice.
- Provide onsite supervision and direction to event staff as needed.
- Develop run of show documents for event-based programs and serve as stage manager during events to ensure the run of show is followed.
- Provide onsite supervisionforthird-partyevent rentalsfrom load-in to load-outincludingliaising withthird-party event leadsand associated staff(securitytechnical crews(audio lighting staging video) food & beverage vendors etc.)
- Assistin the creation and implementation of standardized operational procedures staffing plans schedules risk assessments and management plans. Ascertain and book technical and logistical requirements.
- Work with The Bentways Facilities team to ensure projects are being cared for throughout their lifespan. Create maintenance guides for artworks and conduct regularcheck-insin collaboration with the Facilities team to ensure all artworks areperforming as intended.
- Contribute toTheBentwaysHealth and Safety program including conducting risk assessments.
- Provide administrative support to the Production Managerwhenrequired.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years ofproducingexperience anda track recordof working across public art performing arts and beyond.
- Experiencemanaging the development productioninstallationand strike of artisticprojects across a wide range of art forms and media.
- Demonstrated skills in planning budgeting scheduling and executing projects.
- Extremely organizedwiththe ability to plan implement and prioritize between multipleprojects with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Flexible and open to change. Demonstrated ability to implement and adapt to newsystems.
- Strong skills in the Microsoft OfficesuiteExcel Word PowerPoint) and a facility inlearningnew programsand systems.
- Ability to workwith 3D modellinganddrafting software.
- Familiaritywith Adobe Suite is preferred.
- Excellent and diplomatic communicator experienced in working with a diverse group ofstakeholders (artists technicians fabricators vendors contractors crew junior and senior staff).
- Strong attention to detail andhigh levelof thoroughness.
- Ability to work select nights/weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Ability to work outside in varying and extreme weather conditions.
- Familiarity with current health and safety requirements.
- Current standard level First Aid/CPR-CWorking at Heights Forklift and MEWP certifications preferred.
