Job Summary

Senior Internal Communications & Events Manager

Howdens a major FTSE100 company are looking for a Senior Internal Communications and Events Manager. This a brand-new position within our marketing department and will play a major role in planning coordinating and delivering major events and communications campaigns.

This role requires excellent communication skills creativity and the confidence to work in partnership with senior stakeholders bringing Howdens culture and business priorities to life for colleagues across the organisation.

This position will be based from Raunds in Northamptonshire however travel to other company offices and event sites is to be expected. The team work from home one day a week.

What youll be doing as a Senior Internal Communications & Events Manager:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of large-scale corporate events and conferences.
  • Drive strategic planning logistics and execution of key events to maximise colleague engagement and participation.
  • Oversee budgets timelines suppliers and risk management to ensure all activities are delivered within scope and cost parameters.
  • Provide on-site leadership at events including extensive UK travel acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee the delivery of the internal communications strategy and execution ensuring clear timely engaging and consistent messaging across multiple channels.
  • Manage the internal communications calendar ensuring timely and relevant updates across all levels of the business.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver communications that inform inspire and connect colleagues at all levels.
  • Enhance employee engagement through channel development compelling storytelling content and campaigns that reinforce company values and vision.
  • Align communications and events to create a joined-up experience that reinforces business priorities and company culture.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Proven experience managing high-profile large-scale events delivering seamless experiences under pressure often with complex logistics tight timelines and senior stakeholder visibility.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership communication skills.
  • Proven experience in internal communications and events at a senior level.
  • Experience managing internal comms channels including intranets newsletters and leadership messaging.
  • The ability to drive engagement across a diverse workforce connecting with colleagues across depots manufacturing and support functions each with different needs priorities and levels of access to communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Budget management experience with a focus on efficiency and ROI.
  • Creative & Innovative Continuously seeks new ways to engage employees and improve communication effectiveness
  • Tech-Savvy Comfortable with digital communication tools intranets and virtual event platforms.
