Jim Coleman Automotive is a 3rd generation family-owned dealership founded in 1968 by Mr. William Coleman. The Coleman family has been selling and servicing cars in the DMV since the 1950s. Mr. Coleman had a vision of establishing a dealership with a superior level of customer service standards. He believed that Bethesda residents and Washingtonians alike possessed higher expectations of retailers. He was ahead of his time striving to deliver a unique customer-focused car buying experience. He passed along this legacy of customer care to his son Jim who led the companys expansion and diversified its brand offerings in the 1980s and 90s with an expanded portfolio including Toyota Infiniti Honda Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships. Jim Coleman Automotive now has 9 franchises throughout Maryland and can be found in Bethesda Silver Spring Clarksville and Ellicott City. The company is now led by brothers Patrick and Brendan Coleman who strive each day to optimize the business and to continue to broaden the reach of the Jim Coleman brand.

Experienced Automotive Technician Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Examine the vehicle to determine if any additional safety or service work is needed
• Clear communication with Service Advisors
• Document work performed and recommended on the repair order. Upon completion of work return repair order to Service Advisor.
• Road test customer vehicles
• Ensure that customers cars are kept clean undamaged and without changes to the comfort convenience systems or audio system settings. Notifies service advisor and/or service manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times
• Adhere to all attendance punctuality and timekeeping standards

Experienced Automotive Technician Requirements

• 5 Years Experience (Dealership experience preferred)
• 2 completed ASEs
• Valid Drivers license and clean driving record
• Be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have your own tools
• Team oriented flexible focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
