The Data Scientist will support and lead analytics initiatives within the supply chain logistics and transportation domains. This role is responsible for developing analytical models generating insights and enabling process partners through effective use of advanced analytics tools and techniques. The position is based in Bangalore and reports to the Analytics Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Support and/or lead analytics projects in supply chain logistics transportation and data science domains.
Apply strong technical and domain knowledge to build models analyze datasets and deliver actionable business insights.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the analytics function to enhance tools processes and methodologies.
Perform data purification ETL workflows and prepare high quality datasets for modeling and decision support.
Develop clear compelling visualizations and presentations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
Collaborate across functions to understand business challenges and design analytical solutions.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed based on project requirements.

Domain Expertise
Working knowledge of supply chain logistics and transportation concepts.
Technical Skills
Strong hands on expertise in Python including the ability to build robust data science ML AI and optimization models.
Proficiency in SQL and/or SAS.
Experience with ETL/data preparation and generating insights for business reviews.
Exposure to supply chain or transportation modeling tools (e.g. Supply Chain Guru Blue Yonder Transportation Modeler or similar).
Added advantage: Knowledge of AI/ML/optimization techniques and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering/Technology Supply Chain Management Logistics or related fields. MBA in Operations preferred.
26 years of experience in network design transportation optimization & simulation machine learning or AI.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL/SAS with at least one independent project successfully completed.
Experience using MS Office and standard statistics/data visualization tools.
Strong communication presentation analytical and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in team settings with high attention to detail.
Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.

Desired Qualifications
Basic working knowledge of supply chain optimization tools (e.g. BY Transportation Modeler Supply Chain Guru or similar).
Experience developing data science solutions in Python (ML AI Optimization).
Skilled in Microsoft Office 365.
Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors omissions and oversights.
Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Describes specific software applications or products used for business analytics.
