About the Associate FP&A role
The Associate will play a critical role in IDinsights financial health by analyzing and reporting on project and regional financials. This position involves close collaboration with client development teams to ensure accurate budgeting forecasting and reporting. Additionally the Associate will support the modernization of financial systems including the implementation of the organizations ERP system. This position reports to Manager FPNA
Key Responsibilities
Project Budgeting Forecasting and Management
- Budget Development: Collaborate with client development team members to review and finalize project budgets using the IDinsight template.
- Process Ownership: Maintain ownership of the project budget template and process identifying and implementing improvements on an ongoing basis.
- Database Management: Develop and populate a comprehensive database to record historical costs in various project locations to facilitate accurate and efficient budget preparation.
- Variance Analysis: Review budget vs. actuals for each project on a monthly basis to identify early indicators of deviation and collaborate with project teams to implement necessary course corrections.
- Client Liaising: Convert approved budgets into specific client templates as required and work with the Associate Director - FP&A for final review of project budgets.
Regional Financial Tracking and Analysis
- Regional and Functional P&L Management: Track and analyze financial performance at the regional level ensuring alignment with organizational targets.
- Regional Variance Reporting: Consolidate project financials to produce regional budget vs. actual reports highlighting trends and variances for regional leadership.
- Regional presentations: Prepare decks that deliver insights for decision making based on financial analysis on a monthly basis.
Financial Reporting
- Monthly Reporting: Responsible for various reports relevant for decision making
- Utilization Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly staff utilization reports to support resource planning and efficiency.
- Data base management- Maintain various internal databases such as Funders and Awards Data and refresh various internal and external dashboards on a regular basis
- External & Internal Reporting: Prepare project-level financial reports for internal management use as well as for meeting contractual obligations to external clients.
- Advisory Support: Support project teams by providing tools analysis and guidance in areas including contract negotiations and billing rate analysis.
Systems and Training (ERP Focus)
- ERP Implementation Support: Assist in the rollout and implementation of the organizations Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system ensuring data integrity and user adoption.
- Capacity Building: Provide global and specific training to project teams regarding the high-level elements of budget preparation and financial compliance.
Other
- Support other global financial and related tasks as and when required
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Accounting Commerce Finance or other relevant area; Chartered Accountants preferred
- 1-2 years of professional experience in a similar role at a multinational corporation (MNC)
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English;
- Passionate about global development and social impact;
- Detail-oriented and able to execute multi-faceted tasks with a high amount of autonomy;
- Keen eye for accuracy in data-entry and validation;
- Strong ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality in complex situations and handle sensitive information data and issues with mature and discreet professionalism;
- People-focused and people-facing with high levels of empathy and desire to listen to and share in teammates victories concerns and needs;
- Strong desire for professional growth and development with willingness to give and receive frequent and candid feedback;
- Ability to work with international cross-cultural and diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree and/or Chartered Accountant (CA);
- Proven experience with India compliance US 501(c)(3) compliance and federal/state registrations or corporate and board governance;
- Some professional or academic experience with personal income tax corporate taxation tax compliance or transfer pricing;
- Experience working with the entire Google Suite including Gmail Drive Docs Sheets Sites.

This position is based in IDinsights office in New Delhi India. Preference will be given to those who do not require IDinsight to sponsor work authorization; however IDinsight will seek work permits where possible for exceptional candidates.
