About the Role
The Head of Category Expansion will spearhead Vahans next wave of growth by launching and scaling entirely new worker categories and verticals from scratch. Youll operate as a mini-CEO for all new categories owning research operations product thinking and strategy to take the category from 0 to 10 and ensure lifetime viability.
You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute scalable GTM and operating playbooks while ensuring profitability and long-term category success. This is a high-stakes high-ownership role that sits at the core of our strategic growth roadmap.
What You Will Own
- New Category Launches: Drive the launch of new worker categoriesfrom market research and GTM planning to execution and early traction.
- P&L Ownership: Own and manage the end-to-end P&L for each new category ensuring financial viability and hitting revenue targets.
- Playbook Development: Design scalable operational and product playbooks to ensure categories are built to lastnot just to launch.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Work across Product Sales Operations and Marketing to align efforts unblock dependencies and deliver results.
- 010 Execution: Build traction in early stages get the first 1000 workers placed and set the roadmap for scaling to 10x.
- Process vs Product Thinking: Make sharp judgment calls on when to solve problems via product process or people ensuring fast cost-effective growth.
- Strategic Initiatives: Continuously identify new opportunities pilot initiatives and evaluate category adjacencies for future expansion.
You Will Thrive in This Role If You
- Have proven experience launching new verticals businesses or initiatives independently and scaling them from 0 to 10 (or beyond).
- Are comfortable owning a P&L driving revenue growth and optimizing cost structures for long-term success.
- Can work cross-functionally and influence without authority across teams like sales ops product and marketing.
- Have a bias for execution with the ability to move fast learn on the go and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Possess strong strategic thinking product intuition and operational depth.
