Salary: 50000 - 60000 Car Allowance
Location: North East (including Leeds)
Overview
Were seeking a passionate and highly motivated Development Underwriter to join a regional team covering the North East region. As a development underwriter youll play a key role in writing new business advancing our underwriting strategy and fostering strong relationships with brokers partners and clients.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate new and renewal business within the P&C sector ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
- Underwrite a range of commercial lines with a keen eye for identifying profitable opportunities.
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with brokers external partners and clients to promote business growth in a competitive market.
- Develop and execute underwriting strategies to achieve regional and corporate objectives.
- Stay current with industry trends regulations and market developments to support informed decision-making.
Experience
- Possess proven experience (3 years) in underwriting across commercial lines.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to assess price and manage risk effectively.
- Have excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Are adept at working independently and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
