As the number of projects grows rapidly and SGH Asia moves toward developing its own products this role plays a critical part in executing the Odoo strategy and strengthening the technical capabilities of the project team.


Job Description & Expected Outcomes

Purpose:
Develop customize and maintain Odoo modules according to project requirements contributing directly to the quality of Odoo solutions and SGH Asias product development roadmap.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Gain a solid understanding of the codebase tools and development processes; deliver assigned modules that meet quality standards
  • Support QA/UAT by fixing issues and providing clear technical feedback
  • Take full ownership of the Odoo module lifecycle from analysis to deployment
  • Perform advanced API integrations and contribute to system performance optimization

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize Odoo modules based on technical and business requirements
  • Modify models views workflows and business logic according to design specifications
  • Support enhancement of standard Odoo modules (Sales Inventory Purchase Accounting)
  • Participate in technical analysis with BA/PM; provide feasibility input
  • Write or update technical documentation (processing logic data models workflows)
  • Implement REST API integrations with third-party systems; handle mapping and basic error handling
  • Support QA/UAT by fixing bugs refactoring code and optimizing performance
  • Assist with migration or go-live activities when required
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead BA QA/QC and development team; report progress clearly

Candidate Requirements

Non-negotiables

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Odoo development (v12)
  • Strong proficiency in Python PostgreSQL and XML
  • Solid understanding of Odoo ORM models views and workflows
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • Proficient use of Git
  • Strong logical thinking attention to detail clear communication and a sense of responsibility

Required

  • Ability to independently handle the full Odoo module lifecycle (analysis development deployment)
  • Experience supporting QA/UAT bug fixing and improving code quality
  • Good understanding of module structure security and access rules
  • Ability to write basic technical documentation (logic data models workflows)
  • Effective collaboration with BA PM QA/QC and Technical Lead; transparent progress reporting

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with REST APIs / Webhooks
  • Knowledge of Docker
  • Certifications or training related to Python Odoo or Docker
  • Knowledge of API integration performance optimization or advanced refactoring
