About the Role
As a Security Systems Technician Low Voltage / Access Control you will play a key role in delivering commercial and multifamily security projects with minimal supervision. This position is designed for a technician who is independent technically strong and confident running projects end-to-end without constant oversight. Youll work on short-duration well-scoped projects while collaborating with general contractors subtrades building managers and commercial clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy problem-solving and pride in workmanship.
Key Responsibilities

Install and service low-voltage security systems including access control CCTV and intercom/enterphone systems

Program initialize and troubleshoot backend system components

Plan cable routes; pull wire; terminate devices; label and document installations

Read manuals interpret installation guides and configure equipment correctly

Work safely indoors and outdoors including ladder and scissor lift use

Operate effectively in active construction environments

Provide basic client training during system handover

Perform service calls (experience strongly preferred)

Coordinate with the lead technician for estimating and invoicing support (administrative responsibility remains with lead tech)

Represent the company professionally on commercial job sites

Maintain clean organized and code-compliant installations
Requirements
-
Security Worker / Security Systems Technician License (BC) required
-
Valid Class 5 Drivers License required
-
Minimum 3 years of experience as a security or low-voltage technician

Proven ability to troubleshoot systems independently

Strong wire-pulling skills and confident tool handling
-
Basic electrical knowledge including conduit EMT bending and fitting strikes
-
Ability to plan cable runs and build backend systems
-
Comfortable problem-solving mid-install without constant supervision

Physically capable of wire pulls ladder work and equipment handling
