Application Architect

Our client a leading Software Information and Communication Technologies company operates internationally (Athens Brussels Luxembourg Copenhagen Stockholm London Nicosia Hong-Kong Valetta etc). Our client is a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions multinational corporations public administrations and multinational companies research and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client currently has a vacancy for an Application Architect in English to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the companys premises or on site at customer the context of the first assignment the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team on site.

Requirements

• Master degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 17 years;
• Experience with large enterprise-level multi-user Information Systems;
• Experience with large projects or programmes;
• Experience in Agile as well as agile toolbox (i.e. JIRA Confluence Big Picture Gliffy Balsamiq etc.);
• Experience with enterprise architecture best practices and goals;
• Experience working in a public sector environment;
• Proven experience in managing activities under a large project or programme autonomously while coordinating with the team contractors and / or client;
• Excellent knowledge of Application Management Lifecycle;
• Excellent knowledge of cloud architecture frameworks;
• Excellent knowledge of Infrastructure as code;
• Practical knowledge of (Open-Source) data sharing tools (EDC Gaia-X others) models and standards (W3C DID W3C DCAT W3C ODRL);
• Good Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF COBIT Zachman and actual experience developing and building models based on such framework;
• Good knowledge of security mechanisms for cloud architectures (e.g. IdP) and best practices and patterns;
• Good knowledge of microservices and architecture in the cloud;
• Good knowledge of applications design;
• Good knowledge of modelling tools;
• Good knowledge of Relational DBMS;
• Good knowledge of business process analysis;
• Good knowledge of interoperability technologies at cloud infrastructure level but also at service level (web services message-oriented middleware service-oriented bus event architecture);
• Knowledge of AI Machine Learning or High-Performance services;
• Knowledge of Infrastructure or data layer;
• Excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Work within the agile process and take decisions regarding priority business value and functionality for all the work done by the agile development team;
• Follow a number of activities across different projects and contractors requiring technical and project management skills: understand and comply to a review process monitor status of certain tasks coordinate internally and gather input from within the unit other units or within the Simpl programme. Typically supervise several business analysts;
• Possess an in-depth knowledge of goals and desired objectives of the project;
• Interact with business analysts customer users project leaders and the developers;
• Analyse the integration of the different environments in the l Programme;
• Supervise the implementation of the technical architecture including an analysis of the integration and interoperability of different existing open-source software building blocks that will be included in the cloud architecture;
• Assist during relevant parts of testing analysis technical documentation deployment evaluation and reporting.
