The Cybersecurity Operations Head is a strategic leadership role responsible for safeguarding the
organizations digital assets and ensuring robust cyber defense capabilities. This position oversees
security operations incident response threat intelligence and compliance while driving continuous improvement and innovation in cybersecurity practices. The role requires a blend of technical expertise operational excellence and visionary leadership to align security initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the organizations cybersecurity vision strategy and roadmap.
- Align cybersecurity initiatives with business goals risk management frameworks and compliance
- standards.
- Report on security posture risks and incidents to executive leadership and board members
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day security operations including monitoring detection and response.
- Manage Security Operations Center (SOC) activities and ensure 24/7 threat monitoring.
- Lead vulnerability management penetration testing and threat modeling exercises.
Incident Response & Risk Management
- Direct incident response efforts and coordinate recovery plans for security breaches.
- Contributes to risk assessments security audits and compliance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to frameworks such as ISO 27001 NIST and GDPR.
Technology Enablement
- Drive adoption of advanced security technologies (e.g. EDR/XDR SOAR CASB AI-driven
- automation).
- Evaluate and deploy innovative cybersecurity solutions to enhance operational resilience.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing cybersecurity teams fostering a culture of security awareness.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or related field.
- Must have 8 to 12 years of experience in cybersecurity leadership roles roles with proven success in managing security operations at scale
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of security frameworks threat intelligence and modern defense technologies.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and navigate complex environments.
Competencies:
- Strong leadership skills along with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills including teamwork facilitation and negotiation.
- Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications engagement management stakeholder management and business development.
- Organizational and political savvy with situational awareness to navigate complex environments and overcome obstacles.
- Ability to balance the long-term (big picture) and short-term implications of individual decisions and organizational goals.
- Innovative consultative approach to driving digital business strategies and transformation.
- Business acumen with the ability to understand and communicate in the language of the business.
Licenses/Certifications: (not required but an advantage):
- CISSP CISM or equivalent preferred (optional)
