Job Summary
Teaching staff support the planning and delivery of high-quality programs for children ranging from infants through school age depending on program needs. This role involves facilitating age-appropriate activities supporting childrens social and emotional development and ensuring children are supervised at all times in a safe healthy and nurturing environment.
Essential Functions

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with learning foundations and childrens interests

Create and maintain enriched intentional and supportive learning environments

Build authentic culturally responsive relationships with children families and team members

Ensure childrens health and safety through proper supervision positive interactions and compliance with safety standards

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to deliver high-quality programs and maintain a positive workplace culture
Work Environment Expectations

Foster positive respectful interactions with children and youth

Maintain safe emotional and physical environments

Demonstrate reliability through regular attendance and punctuality

Participate actively in indoor and outdoor programming

Follow safety guidelines report health or safety concerns and remain calm during emergencies or first-aid situations
Physical & Environmental Conditions
-
Work in both indoor and outdoor environments including varying weather conditions safe for children
-
Conduct visual safety inspections and implement preventative measures
-
Tolerate occasional loud noise during activities
-
Perform frequent bending lifting reaching pushing pulling kneeling and sitting on the floor
-
Lift and carry items up to 15 lbs. individually or with assistance
-
Navigate playground equipment uneven terrain and varying heights
-
Supervise off-site activities and field trips as required
Qualifications & Experience
Role Overview
Associate Teachers share responsibility for the care and education of an assigned group of children. More than one Associate Teacher may be assigned to a classroom.
Education
-
1224 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) in Early Childhood Education Child Development or a related field with passing grades of C- or better OR
-
Associate Teacher Permit or higher issued by the appropriate credentialing authority
Experience & Skills
-
612 months of experience in a group care or classroom setting with a consistent age group preferred
-
Strong skills in classroom management communication problem-solving and conflict resolution
-
Effective organization time management and curriculum documentation abilities
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment
-
Adult and infant/child CPR & First Aid certification preferred
-
Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred based on program needs
