The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to join our fast-paced Public Relations team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an up-and-coming communications professional to gain hands-on experience in PR strategy and media relations. The PR team handles all external communications for the firm. The ideal candidate is a strong writer fearless pitcher proactive problem-solver and has an interest in the intersection of law media and public advocacy.
This is a remote position based out of our Orlando FL office. You will be expected to work a set number of days per week in the office with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder. Occasional travel is required. This position reports to the Senior Director of Communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media Monitoring & Reporting: Track daily news coverage related to the firms cases practice areas and the legal industry. Compile daily and weekly media reports for the PR team and firm leadership
- Drafting & Editing: Assist in drafting and editing a variety of communications materials including press releases media advisories firm announcements pitch letters talking points for attorneys and award nominations
- Media Relations Support: Assist in managing incoming media inquiries maintain and update media contact lists pitch stories to appropriate reporters and help coordinate interview logistics
- Administrative Support: Manage PR-related administrative tasks including organizing and preparing for meetings liaising with firm leadership and coordinating with attorneys as well as other marketing teams on projects
- Litigation Communications: Work closely with attorneys to understand the nuances of high-profile cases and translate complex legal concepts into clear compelling public narratives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism English or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in comms PR political campaigns or journalism. PR agency experience preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to write clear concise and persuasive content under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent research skill and a can-do attitude to figure out solutions to difficult tasks
- Proficiency in media monitoring tools (e.g. MuckRack) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A professional discreet and enthusiastic demeanor with a willingness to learn quickly.
