Position Highlights:
Position Summary:
Provides secretarial services for the St. Mary Regional Cancer Center. Assists the Manager with various clerical duties provides office coverage and receives telephone calls and visitors as needed. Serves as secretary to committees as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Warmly greet patients and visitors upon arrival and informs appropriate personnel of patient and/or visitor arrivals.
Processes and schedules all new outpatient/inpatient consultations for the Radiation Oncology and Infusion in conjunction with the includes: taking the initial call entering patient demographic information into the computer and retrieving all records and films as well as obtaining insurance information.
Initiate registration for radiation oncology by selecting the correct medical record number and entering patient demographics and insurance information into the clinical information system.
Assist patients with financial/billing questions and refers to the Accounting department as needed.
Schedules follow-up appointments for radiation oncology patients.
Ensure that the Radiation Oncologists schedules for the following day are on their desk at the end of the current workday.
Process all mail email and phone calls to support Cancer Center operations.
Handles the physicians itinerary book and schedules appointments/consultations for the physicians.
Collaborate with the Radiation Oncologists for add-on patient needs. Answers and makes phone calls to support daily operations.
Maintains conference room schedule.
Completes patient forms and process medical records requests promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate/Equivalent
(required)
At least one year experience in an office setting preferably a medical office setting.
