Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsible for operating heavy equipment used for moving or grading earth applying concrete asphalt and other materials.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment under general supervision.
• Could operate Graders roller booms dozers scrapers blades loaders etc.
• Move levers depress foot pedals and turn dials to operator power machinery such as power shovels stripping shovels scraper loaders and backhoes
• Inspect equipment for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
• Cleans maintains and lubricates equipment.
• Understand the use of equipment in various jobs
• Complete job tickets service quality summaries and all other necessary paperwork.
• Lift position and place machinery equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines other equipment other workers and falling objects.
• Start engines move throttles switches and levers and depress pedals to operate machines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education no minimum education requirements.

Certification / License: State issued Drivers License and TWIC

Experience 3-5 years of operating equipment in an Industrial setting.
