A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Sergeant / Chf Tech (Any Profession) to serve as SMARTT FS 3 as part of the Stress Management and Resilience Training Team (SMARTT) at RAF Cranwell on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 15 June 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
The Stress Management and Resilience Training Team (SMARTT) provide a framework of courses and briefs to RAF and Whole Force personnel in order to promote maintain enhance and support the wellbeing and psychological safety of our people. It does this by delivering stress management and resilience training for RAF personnel and whole force in the Air environment to support Ops at home or abroad and in the homebase environment.
Responsible for:
- Planning designing and conducting 1st Party Assurance (1PA) activity for all SMARTT delivered courses in line with the SMARTT Assurance Plan. This includes Unit level 1PA/DTS activity as required.
- Supporting the analysis of all course feedback and identify trends for consideration for any future course amendments.
- Liaising with Unit co-ords for TRiM & Thriving at Work () in order to receive identify & collate any training related trends for further action as required.
- Maintaining working relationship with all federated TRiM Practitioner Instructors to ensure they have appropriate support wrt assurance.
- Acting as lead instructor for TRiM.
- Delivering on all courses delivered by the SMARTT current and future.
- Assist with the development of any new courses that come under the remit of the SMARTT.
- Delivering external briefings as required.
- Responding to live event requests and initiate as required any event that involves RAF pers at home abroad and on operations anywhere providing advice and guidance to Unit CoC Unit TRiM owners TRiM Team Leaders and Practitioners.
- Maintaining a working level understanding of key priorities and work strands across the rest of the Team and support as necessary.
- Contributing to the formulation of the future policy within AP 9012 and associated policies as required/directed.
- Deputising for WO SMARTT in their absence as required/directed.
- Undertaking any additional roles as directed to maximise efficiency.
The role is primarily office based and but will also be required to undertake to periodic assurance visits to a wide range of Units. This will be within the scope FTRS(LC). The candidate will be required to deliver on all SMARTT courses at RAF Cranwell in line with the trg programme.
