About the role

As aDevExEngineer you willplay a pivotal role inoptimizingthe entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by creating an efficient self-service and seamless experience for developers.You will drive automation standardize workflows andutilizea data-proven approach toidentifyandeliminatefriction in the SDLC.You will build foundational internal tools (IDP) that empower product teams to deliver value faster ensuring every improvement is measurable and evidence based.

• Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to help shape and deliver the roadmap for the Internal Developer Platform (IDP).

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Internal Developer Platform primarily using supporting the consolidation of tools and a consistent developer self-service experience.

• Assistin evaluatingnew technologiesand tools with a focus on reducing developer cognitive load and improving usability.

• Contribute to the implementation and improvement of CI/CD workflows in GitLab following established best practices and Golden Paths to ensure security and compliance.

• Develop internal CLI tools and API integrations using Python and TypeScript/JavaScript to support automation and tool integration.

• Help collect andanalysedeveloper experience metrics (e.g. surveys system data) toidentifybottlenecks and suggest improvements.

• Support initiatives aimed at improving the DX Core 4 areas ensuring changes deliver clear value to engineers.

• Promote Platform Engineering practices byparticipatingin workshops demos and feedback sessions with internal users.

• Collaborate closely withproduct security andcloud teamsto define technical standards governance models and best practices for DevOps cloud operations and security compliance

• Support knowledge sharing within the team and contribute to a culture focused on empathy towards the developer as the end user.

• Professional experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering with hands-on involvement in building or supporting internal tools for developers.

• Practical experience with including configuring the platform working with existing plugins and contributing to customizations using TypeScript/JavaScript.

• Good working knowledge of GitLab CI/CD andGitOpsprinciples with experiencemaintainingand improving pipelines.

• Production experience in at least one of the following: TypeScript/JavaScript or Python; familiarity with Bash scripting.

• Experience working with cloud-native technologies including containers (Docker) and Kubernetes with exposure to Helm and basic cluster administration.

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog) including using dashboards and alerts to support platform and application health.

• Working knowledge of AWS and Infrastructure as Code concepts; experience using Terraform to provision ormodifyinfrastructure.

• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems concepts in a production environment.

• Ability toidentifycommon developer pain points and translate them into actionable technical tasks or improvements.

• Awareness of developer productivity metrics (e.g. DX Core 4 DORA) and interest in applying them to improve developer experience.

• Ability to shift focus from managing infrastructure to serving developers understanding that the platforms success is measured by user adoption and satisfaction.

• Nice tohave:experience contributing to improvements in developer efficiency delivery speed or developer satisfaction inpreviousroles.

• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
