As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work as part of a dedicated Early Years team supporting children in Nursery and/or Reception. You will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum ensuring that learning experiences are engaging purposeful and developmentally appropriate.
You will play a key role in supporting childrens learning through structured activities and play-based learning helping them to develop early communication language literacy numeracy and social skills. The role requires a patient caring and observant practitioner who understands how young children learn and who can respond effectively to individual needs.

The EYFS Teaching Assistant will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the effective running of the Early Years setting including:
Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework
Working with individual children and small groups to support learning and development
Supporting childrens communication and language development including early phonics and listening skills
Encouraging the development of personal social and emotional skills such as confidence independence and cooperation
Supporting learning through play both indoors and outdoors
Assisting with the observation assessment and recording of childrens progress and achievements
Helping to prepare organise and maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment
Supporting children during daily routines including arrival transitions mealtimes and toileting where necessary
Encouraging positive behaviour and modelling appropriate social interactions
Supporting children with additional needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
Working collaboratively with teachers Early Years practitioners and other support staff
We are seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant who is caring reliable and committed to supporting young childrens development. You should be enthusiastic about early years education and able to create positive relationships with children colleagues and families.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Experience working with children in an EYFS setting such as a primary school nursery or early years provision
A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A calm patient and nurturing approach
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of the children and the school
A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
A relevant qualification in childcare or early years education (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable though not essential for candidates with strong experience and a commitment to professional development.
