Job Summary

Description

Center for Nano-Immune Cell-Engineering (NICE) at the Department of Health Technology (DTU Health Tech)invites a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our group in developing advanced polymeric nanoparticle systems for in vivo protein/gene delivery.

The project focuses on engineering and characterizing stimuli-responsive nanocarriers for targeted safe and efficient delivery of biomacromolecules such as CRISPRCas9 protein complexes therapeutic enzymes and other biomolecule-based drugs. This position is ideal for candidates with strong interests in nanomedicine biomaterials drug delivery and translational biotechnology.

We provide

  • Access to state-of-the-art research facilities and fabrication labs
  • A vibrant collaborative and inclusive research environment
  • Opportunities to mentor students and collaborate with academic and industrial partners
  • A chance to contribute to impactful research in personalized healthcare

The overarching goal is to build smart nanoparticle platforms that enable precise control over cargo loading stability release kinetics and functional activity in tumor models.

Responsibilities:

  • Design synthesize and characterize polymeric nanoparticles including degradable polymers block copolymers and responsive materials.
  • Develop protein/gene delivery formulations including Cas9 RNPs therapeutic enzymes or antibody fragments.
  • Engineer stimuli-responsive release mechanisms (e.g. pH enzymatic).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (e.g. immunologists molecular biologists) to conductin vitro assays to evaluate protein activity and cellular interaction and performin vivo biodistribution and therapeutic efficacy studies in animal models.
  • Publish high-impact manuscripts and present research at international conferences.

Qualifications:

  • As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent)in Biomedical Engineering Chemical Engineering Materials Science Pharmacy Nanomedicine or a related field.
  • Experience in protein/gene formulation biomolecule handling or macromolecular complexes.
  • Knowledge of stimuli-responsive materials (pH- enzyme-responsive systems).
  • Strong skills in nanoparticle synthesis for protein/gene delivery (polymeric lipid or hybrid systems).
  • Experience with nanoparticle physicochemical characterization (DLS TEM NMR SEC zeta potential).
  • Background inin vivo drug delivery or pharmacokinetic studies.
  • Familiarity with microfluidic nanoparticle formulation or polymer chemistry.
  • Excellent communication and scientific writing skills.
