This position is located in Charitable Solicitation Licensing Section within the Secretary of States Office. Charitable Solicitation Licensing (CSL) Division licenses and regulates charitable solicitation professional solicitors and investigates and prosecutes violations to protect the public against improper including fraudulent solicitations. This position is one of three positions assigned to CSLs Licensing Section that handles voluminous and complex fiscal tax and litigation documents submitted by charitable and sponsor organizations professional solicitors and fundraising consultants seeking registration under the Charitable Solicitation Act (NCGS 131 F). These filings often include documents prepared by certified public accountants security bond companies the Internal Revenue Service colleges and universities and law enforcement offices. Applications are received by US Mail and on-line via the states website. Additionally this Section interacts with members of the public acting in volunteer and official capacities with charitable entities seeking to register with the Department.
