The North Carolina Department of Administration is seeking applicants for an HVAC Technician for our Facility Management division. The primary mission of Facility Management is to provide a safe and healthful work environment for employees and the public in a cost effective and energy efficient manner. This mission is accomplished by performing routine preventive and emergency maintenance to state facilities owned by and allocated to the Department of Administration.
Division/ Department Overview: The Department of Administration serves as the business manager for North Carolina state government and provides leadership to state government agencies for the effective efficient economical and equitable delivery of services to the public. The department also provides assistance and services to several advocacy programs that serve diverse segments of the states population that have traditionally been underserved. The agencys mission directs departmental efforts to: acquire develop and maintain properties and facilities; create and operate an efficient system to purchase and dispose of goods and services to meet the needs of government agencies; provide excellent operational services to state employees; achieve fair and equitable opportunities and representation for various segments of the population that have special needs; and to provide administrative support to independent state government agencies.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressive experience in the installation maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers air handling chilled water distribution and control systems including one year at the journey level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
