Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Transportation Engineering student to join our team on a flexible part-time basis. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting traffic analyses and preparing Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for development projects and transportation studies. This role offers hands-on experience in traffic engineering and exposure to real-world transportation planning processes.

Your Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze traffic data including volumes turning movements and travel patterns.
• Perform capacity analysis using industry-standard software (e.g. Synchro HCS VISSIM).
• Assist in preparing Traffic Impact Statements and related technical reports.
• Support the development of trip generation estimates and intersection analysis.
• Review and interpret transportation planning documents and local agency requirements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines (e.g. HCM MUTCD local ordinances).

Job Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a BS or MS program specializing in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
• Available to work part-time hours in spring semester around college classes at the Fort Myers office and 40-hour work week for summer semester.
