The Activation Team at Montgomery Parks is hiring a Site Coordinator to bring our events to life! This role will provide onsite event coordination of the Parks Playhouse Jr. event series that takes place in the spring and summer months. Parks Playhouse Junior is a series of interactive childrens performances at parks across Montgomery County offering a diverse lineup of entertainment for kids and families. Examples of Important Duties

What Youll Do:

  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of event spaces and equipment including tables chairs tents signage etc.
  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles for events.
  • Monitor events on-site including all event activities ensuring safety and success of the event.
  • Engage with event attendees and provide friendly helpful customer service.
  • Help maintain our special events inventory and warehouse located in Gaithersburg MD.
  • Provide support to Parks Activation staff.
  • Perform related tasks as required.
When Youll Work
  • Opportunities to work will be according to event schedule throughout the year and will include weekdays weekends mornings evenings and some holidays.
  • 20-30 hours/week. The position requires weekday and weekend availability according to the event schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Maryland drivers license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for at least two hours at a time.
  • Walk at least a half a mile up and down moderate hills without difficulty.
  • Tolerance for working in various weather conditions including heat rain humidity and cold.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience facilitating and leading special events and programs
  • Experience with special events equipment
  • Experience with and knowledge of coordinating special events
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Experience driving large vehicles (pick-up truck and/or box truck)
  • Bilingual/Multilingual a plus

Supplemental Information

  • This position is part-time and not eligible for benefits.
  • A background investigation will be completed prior to hire.
  • Must possess a valid Maryland Drivers License.
  • This position is based out of Gaithersburg MD and works at park locations throughout Montgomery County.
  • Position pays at a rate of $15.45 to $19.75 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
