The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction purchasing and contracting for goods and services maintaining facilities managing state vehicles acquiring and disposing of real property and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.

Job Duties: The sustainability intern will help design and implement new and continuing sustainability projects at the NC Dept of Administration.
Major Task to be Performed: Intern will help manage utility data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements update the Sustainability Action Plan research industry best practices and explore sustainability topics present/teach those topics collaborate with other divisions and agencies assist in planning current and future projects.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: Intern will leave with a greater understanding of sustainability topics and how they can be applied in a real life state government setting.
