Description of Work
This position serves as the Budget Officer for Central Management and Support within the Division of Budget and Analysis responsible for managing and coordinating all budgetary activities for assigned divisions. The role develops and implements budgetary policies and procedures ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and oversees the preparation and consolidation of annual and biennial budgets. It provides technical guidance and training to staff directs financial reporting processes and analyzes fiscal data to support informed decision-making. The position operates in a fast-paced environment requiring collaboration with internal leadership and external oversight agencies to maintain fiscal integrity and accountability.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Proven experience overseeing the planning implementation and tracking of short-term projects including meeting all deliverables
Proven experience multi-tasking meeting deadlines and working independently
Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and experience using Access and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of accepted budgetary practices including experience in interpretation and daily application of the State Budget Manual
Ability to work collaboratively with management and staff of Department and divisions; and other partners such as the Office of State Budget and Management Program Evaluation and Fiscal Research Divisions of the State Legislature
About the Division of Budget and Analysis:
The Division of Budget and Analysis provides leadership and support to department and division management by (1) developing executing and modifying the Departments operating budget; (2) researching and analyzing issues that impact the Departments budgets plans and programs; and (3) developing innovative solutions to challenging problems.

Bachelors degree in accounting business finance or other discipline related to the area of assignment from appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience two of which must have been supervisory in nature; or equivalent combination of education and experience.EEO Statement
