Q-Sourcing Tanzania Limited is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Tanzania Uganda Kenya Rwanda and South Sudan.

On behalf of our Tanzania based client we are looking for a competent and experienced Filter Maker Operator.

POSITION IN THE COMPANY

To operate either Filter Making Machine in order to meet machine daily production KPIs targets while producing high quality Filter Rods as per available standards and procedures i.e IWSQuality Plan Brand Change/Shift change Incumbent must possess sufficient skills and knowledge to operate aforementioned machines fairly efficient while complying with 5S3R and Environmental Health and Safety standards.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete agreed shift handover process with outgoing and incoming operator and report .The handover report should contain agreed information such as Filter Rods produced machine problems brand change or material change if any and must be complied accurately as per work instructions and procedures.
  
• Clean machine as per standard cleaning procedureoperating the machine as per agreed work instructions and procedures checking quality of consumables such as garniture tapes and knives.
  
• Verify materials supplied against Production Order Form by: Checking Production Order and verifying it against actual materials supplied in machine. Complete a shift/Brand change Over checklist -Filter Rod Making; reporting any deviation of material observed during verification as per agreed format. (Filter Maker Material to be checked include Filter Tow; Plasticizer; Cold & Hot Melt Glue and Plug wrap)
  
• Operate the machine as per supplier operating manual agreed Service Operating Guidelines operational and quality guidelines. Follow work instructions- implement DO THINK CHECK and ACT at your level. Record down time as required.
  
• Monitor quality of product by conduct quality checks during machine operation as per Quality Plan and agree quality check guidelines. Monitor product quality: -Once machine begins operation; check visual and physical parameters after every 20 minutes conduct quality checks of 20 filter rods produced.- Checks are conducted on the filter rod size (length circumference) filter rod weight pressure drop. Deviations must be identified reported and acted on within agreed time.
  
• Maintain safety at work and during operating the machine which includes having on proper safety gear for self and crew during cleaning process. Some of the safety gear include: - Wearing gloves when changing knife; Wearing Mask & goggles during cleaning; Using gloves during cleaning safety shoes uniform and ear plugs
  
• Measure and record filter waste generated during production at the end the shift.
  
• Any other duties reasonably requested by the Management this includes but is not limited to attending assigned machines.
  

Requirements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Education

Advanced Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 - years work experience in Production Environment will be of added advantage
