Job Summary
This position will either be filled as a Dietitian I (Req: ) or a Dietitian II.
University of Iowa Health Care - Medical Center North Liberty department of Food and Nutrition is seeking a Dietitian II. This position uses nutrition care process to assess evaluate and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for patients in program areas as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides quality care including nutrition screening evaluation assessment treatment and documentation of patient care plan appropriate for complex patients.
Assesses nutritional status and instructs/counsels on appropriate diet.
Participates as active member of departmental/hospital committees concerning problems affecting patients food habits and needs
Participates in health team rounds and short-term projects.
Participates on Clinical Masters selection committee.
Educates students with on-the-job training.
Evaluates students.
Provides students with necessary support and assistance to ensure work is completed. Educates/trains new personnel as assigned and acts as a mentor to new personnel. Conducts peer chart reviews/audits for Dietitian
Seeks opportunities to enhance ones own professional knowledge skills and development including research for publication/presentation.
Lead monthly CEU program for dietitian staff.
Obtain advanced credentialing.
Serve as a clinical resource to peers.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public. Functional supervision over Diet Clerks.
Schedule:50%
Hourly: $22.99 to commensurate
Hours:Monday-Friday 4 hour shifts preferably in the morning hours

Minimum Eligibility Requirement:
A masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required
Licensure by the State of Iowa is required.
Reasonable (5 years) clinical nutrition experience is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated competency of patient care in pediatric adult and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Experience in making enteral and parental recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas
