Come join the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. We are conveniently located in the New River Valley where you will enjoy hundreds of outdoor adventures vibrant arts and cultural activities University (RU and VT) sporting events and a broad range of live music venues. This position will be utilized to help cover department needs during normal business hours weekends and holidays.

Job duties and responsibilities to include:
Carotid ultrasounds
Venous ultrasounds
Arterial ultrasounds
Renal ultrasounds
Take part in the training of students and staff as assigned.
Create a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Experience:Vascular ultrasound experience preferred but not required.
Licensure certification and/or registrationRVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) in Vascular Sonography. ARDMS or CCI. CPR certification required.
Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to during and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.
Operates highly specialized equipment including radiographic CR (Computed Radiography) DR (Digital Radiography) and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).
Trains students and staff as assigned.
Creates a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
Interacts with patients families visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop coordinate and manage the plan of care.
What We Require:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.
Experience: none
Licensure certification and/or registration: ARRT registry/ARDMS in one of the following areas: OB/Gyn Abd or Neurosonography. CPR certification required.
Other: Interpersonal technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
