Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.

Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assistant

Seeking RNFA Experience! Must have 2 years experience!

FT Days

Who We Are:

Mercy OR conducts a variety of cases including Orthopedics Neurology General Services. RNs are typically hired into one of these specialty pods and may have the opportunity to cross-train to other pods in the department.

The RN First Assistant practices perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge skills and judgment through organized instruction and supervised practice to first or second assist the surgeon in the operating room. The intraoperative activities of the RN first assistant must be supervised by a surgeon.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: RN License in the state of MO
  • Experience: Must have minimum of 2 years intraoperative experience
  • Certifications:
    • CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.
    • BLS/ACLS required within first year.
  • Preferred Education: BSN Degree
  • Preferred Certifications: CNOR CRNFA
