Accounting Specialist - Oil & Gas
Job Overview
The Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for general revenue accounting duties related to the recording of the companys oil & natural gas production each month as well as managing financial records and preparing reports for upper management.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Processing and reviewing accounts payable invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Assisting in the preparation of 1099 reporting and filing with Federal and State agencies
- Management and reconciliation of company expense reporting
- Reconciliation of general ledger account balances
- Preparation of financial statements
- Perform monthly balance sheet income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets for review by management
- Maintenance and reconciliation of fixed assets schedules
- Ensures billings and receivables are correctly processed in a timely manner
- Assists Finance & Accounting Team with analysis of data and reports.
- Other duties as assigned by the Finance & Accounting Team
Skills and Qualifications:
- BS or BA degree in accounting (CPA a plus)
- 2-4 years of oil & gas/real estate accounting experience is highly preferred
- Understanding of GAAP accounting and financial principles
- Understanding of tax concepts and reporting requirements
- Ability to apply accounting principles to the maintenance of all Accounts and Finance records.
- Proficient in using accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Self-motivated hands-on and desire and ability to learn and grow
- Highly skilled and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
- High level of ethics & integrity maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
