Position: Truckload Dispatcher
Location: Springdale AR
Duration: 3 Months Possible extension
Shift: Sun-Tues/every other Saturday 20.00 08.00
Job Summary:
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for an Truckload Dispatcher position. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and comprehensive training in fleet operations. The selected candidate will work closely with an experienced supervisor to gain in-depth knowledge of dispatch operations load coordination driver management and fleet logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily dispatch operations of fleet trucks ensuring efficient coordination with drivers.
- Manage unassigned loads and monitor load progress for on-time delivery.
- Handle driver safety concerns and resolve issues that occur outside normal office hours.
- Collaborate with various departments including load planning shuttle and regional operations to develop a thorough understanding of the transportation process.
- Assume responsibilities for weekend night and daytime dispatch as needed.
- Support operational efficiency and contribute to the continuous improvement of fleet operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of recent long-haul dispatch experience required (customer service experience in the transportation field does not qualify).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT regulations is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and email communication.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Special Skills: Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to learn lead and motivate others.
- Work Schedule: Must be flexible and able to work a varying schedule including weekends and nights.
- Travel: No travel required.
