The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential by creating opportunities removing barriers and promoting social justice.
Overview:
Our free confidential and voluntary 13-bed shelter serves youth 12-17 years old for up to 30 days. Counselors provide nonjudgmental individualized support to help youth reunite with their families or find alternative stable housing.
Schedule: Part time. Sunday 2pm-9:30pm Monday 8am-4pm Friday 7:30am-3pm Saturday 3pm-9:30pm *When possible attend group supervisions on Wednesdays from noon-1pm.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of: wake-up clean-up daily chores and bedtime
- Distribution of medications and appropriate documentation
- Liaison with Intake and Emergency Shelter Support (Counseling) teams
- Individual counseling and mentoring
- After-hour response assessment and intake of youth in need
- Development and supervision of social cultural and recreational activities
- Crisis/conflict/prevention/intervention response and intervention
- Maintenance of accurate and timely program records
- Maintenance of facility and grounds
- Daily meal planning and preparation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field AND 1-2 years experience in a residential youth program OR Equivalent
Skills:
- Counseling approaches and techniques
- Crisis prevention
Pay Rate: $19- $21 per hour
*All Offers may be contingent on a Background check and Driving record & Automobile insurance that meets agency insurance carrier requirements.
