Primary Duties
Ensures a clean safe and organized environment to support production efficiency and safety compliance.
Primary Responsibilities and Tasks
Perform routine of cleaning of designated areas including:
o Pasting Production Department (Daily walkthroughs of areas listed and address any area that needs to be cleaned)
Mixer Tower (Second Floor)
Oxide Bin Storage Area (Floor Level)
Pasting Tooling Area
Mills Department area as needed based on staffing shortages
o Supervisor Office
Pasting Office (once a week)
Quality Lab (once every three weeks)
Maintenance Office & War room (once a month)
If a clean up needs to occur outside of these timelines supervisor will coordinate with Janitor
o Chemsets (Daily walkthroughs and address any area that needs to be cleaned)
o Strip Caster Area (Daily walkthroughs and address any area that needs to be cleaned)
o Mill Room
Mill Room cleaning by Janitor will only be requested based on staffing shortages
Clean floors walls equipment exteriors and surrounding workstations using approved methods and PPE.
Remove lead paste buildup oxide and dust in accordance with safety protocols.
Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials following OSHA and Clarios standards.
Maintain cleanliness of critical safety and operational areas:
o Walkways
o Eyewash stations
o Water booths
o Emergency exits
Monitor and replenish janitorial supplies (e.g. mops cleaning agents PPE).
Support 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives by organizing and labeling cleaning tools and supplies.
Assist with spill response and containment procedures.
Coordinate cleaning activities with maintenance and production teams to minimize disruption.
Complete daily cleaning logs and promptly report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
o Daily Logs will be posted in the appropriate areas as described in the above
Additional Duties:
Perform other cleaning or support tasks assigned based on departmental needs.
Notify Supervisor of any potential work orders that need to be placed with maintenance
Notify supervisor of any additional re-supplies needed or additional janitorial products that may be needed to complete tasks
Tools & Equipment
Mops scrubbing equipment waxing and buffing tools
Shovels surface wipes and other cleaning tools
Any equipment necessary to maintain a clean and hazard-free environment
Supervision:
Reports directly to Pasting and Mills Supervisors and Area Manager
