Job Responsibilities
Provide direct high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring of vital signs and clinical status
Administer medications IV therapies blood products and treatments as prescribed
Perform and assist with IV insertion phlebotomy and conscious sedation
Operate manage and troubleshoot critical care equipment (e.g. ventilators monitors infusion pumps)
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies
Collaborate closely with physicians respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary care teams
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment progression
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Adhere to infection control standards safety protocols and hospital policies
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of ICU / Critical Care nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
Education
Certifications & Licensure
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Primary Source Verification through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED)
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
