Hybrid: This position requires being on-site 3x/week.

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Vehicle Mass Analyst to lead and execute the complete mass management process for our vehicle programs. This role is critical to ensuring our vehicles meet performance balance and stability targets while achieving aggressive weight reduction goals.

What you will do (Responsibilities):

  • Mass Breakdown and Analysis:

    • Perform detailed breakdown of the vehicles mass identifying and quantifying weight contributions of major components subsystems and assemblies.

    • Identify critical areas contributing significantly to overall weight to prioritize weight reduction efforts.

  • Weight Targets Management:

    • Define and manage weight targets for all Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS).

    • Guide design and engineering teams to achieve weight reduction goals.

  • Mass Distribution Analysis:

    • Analyze front-to-rear weight distribution and Center of Gravity (CG) height to ensure proper balance stability and vehicle dynamics.

  • Weight Sensitivity Evaluation:

    • Evaluate changes in vehicle mass due to program variables (e.g. optional equipment regulatory changes).

    • Assess impact of program strategy on overall mass and performance metrics.

  • Mass Tracking and Reporting:

    • Establish systems for continuous monitoring and tracking of weight reduction progress.

    • Highlight areas requiring immediate technical attention to mitigate mass-related risks.

  • Mass Audits:

    • Conduct vehicle mass audits at assembly plants to track mass evolution throughout lifecycle and program maturity.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Prepare technical documentation detailed reports and presentations summarizing analysis results and strategic recommendations.

Your skills and abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.

  • Fluent English communication skills (oral and written).

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Valid drivers license and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle regularly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel.

What can give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Previous experience in Mass Management.

  • Knowledge of GM program timing and VDP.

  • Ability to work effectively within teams and coordinate cross-functional activities.

  • DFSS Black Belt certification.
