Job Summary
Position Description:
Clearance: Secret (must have resided in Canada for 10 years)
Location: Ottawa or Calgary preferred Working Hours: EST
As a Cloud Database Solution Architect you will serve as the lead technical authority driving the design and evolution of cloud database ecosystems within hybrid cloud delivery models. You will architect secure scalable and high-performing solutions that meet enterprise standards and business needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Lead cloud database architecture within hybrid cloud models.
- Design solutions for high availability security migration and scalability.
- Plan and execute migrations from on-prem to Azure SQL and Oracle Exadata Cloud.
- Collaborate with teams to align solutions with standards and roadmaps.
- Advise on cloud deployment models and workload portability.
- Architect multi-region/multi-cloud high availability solutions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
A minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience with Database Administration (as a DBA and Architect) with experience in the following:
. MS Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI) database and Oracle Exadata database deployed in Azure cloud environments
. PostgreSQL on Azure
. Oracle 19c and SQL Server 2019 or higher
. Architect a data platform in Azure
. Architect secure infrastructure in Azure
. Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework (especially performance and reliability)
. Oracle Exadata Data Guard RAC
. Database Recovery Manager (RMAN) with backup/restore and point in time recovery.
. Data Pump tool for database/data migration
. Concept of Oracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95000 - $145000. This role is an existing vacancy
Use of the term architect in this job posting refers to the technical sense related to Information Technology (IT) and does not imply that the individual practices architecture or possesses the requisite license as prescribed by the applicable provincial or territorial architect regulator. We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT architect-related functions but licensure from an architect regulator is not a prerequisite for this position. Architecture is a regulated profession in Canada which is restricted in terms of use of titles and designation.
