Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the protection of Universal Kids Resorts assets and properties by the prevention and recovery of company assets through the management of all operational activities of the Loss Prevention Investigations and Security Systems departments including education and awareness. Investigates all criminal activity major accidents and IT security events. Oversees the team and functions of access control key control and Team Member ID badge processing for ID credentials.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the operation of the Security surveillance team and provides operational support of multiple video surveillance systems property wide for Universal Kids Resort (UKR). Partners closely with both internal and external partners to ensure all repairs and replacements are completed in a timely manner. Participates in a rotating on call program to ensure critical issues and outages are coordinated 24 x 7 365 days a year. Develops and maintains resort wide video surveillance standards and requirements and oversees the implementation of resort-wide camera surveillance to Security standards.
  • Oversees Loss Prevention and Investigations team. Provides case management for all internal investigations. Reviews Security activity and provides support for any ongoing trends of theft or loss as detected by Loss Prevention or reported by Team Members and Guests. Supports Loss Prevention educational and awareness training programs. Reviews investigative theft and policy violation cases and assists with preparation of prosecution; conducts interview training and assists in undercover surveillance. Prepares reports and summaries for leadership review of trends or results to support initiatives that detect deter respond to and recover company assets and reported loss.
  • Ensures the Security team reviews daily and weekly incidents to maximize system up time and minimize poor quality issues. Manages the production of regular statistical reports on outages and system downtimes. Manages software licensing equipment warranties and systems budget. Implements surveillance controls and reviews system access to include quarterly audits and access reviews to ensure compliance with Security standards.
  • Develops loss prevention strategies and inventory control analytics. Coordinates daily activities and manages the Loss Prevention & Investigations team to assigned cases and ensures the activities of all integrity shopping throughout the resort. Ensures the proper training programs have been met to ensure Officers can monitor detect apprehend and deter shoplifting and the theft of UKR assets and the unauthorized resale or possession of UKR admission of ticket collateral. Provides recommendations designed to protect assets meet reporting requirements reduce shrinkage and effectively plan for the loss prevention and inventory control needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for all aspects of resort-wide property access control including ID Processing Key Control and visitors. Ensures coverage for Team Member ID Processing/Access Control office and provides supervision for Security staff working there ensuring relevant policies procedures and standards are upheld. Maintains and manages back-of-house and service complex parking plans and space assignments. Audits and reviews access for use and compliance.
  • Responsible for the hiring training coaching and development of assigned teams. Establishes initiatives and leads the execution to increase Team Member Satisfaction (TSAT) and Guest Satisfaction (GSAT) according to plan/strategy. Ensures safety measures and policies are upheld and that all Team Members are in compliance with any required training or certifications.
  • Acts as a liaison between all local state or federal law enforcement agencies statewide as well as all competitive private security departments. Collects and assesses any relevant intelligence that may affect UKR operations or assets. Manages all investigations of non-Team Member criminal activity major accidents or incidents resort wide.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises a Non-Exempt team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  • A background check is mandatory and results must meet Universal Kids Resorts background check criteria.
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Ability to compute rate ratio and percentage; and to draw and interpret bar graphs and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.

CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:

  • Wicklander & Zulawski interview/interrogation certification preferred.
  • Required to successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory/legal licenses and certifications as a condition of employment.
  • Level 2 (Non-Commissioned) Security License is required.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of experience in Security or Investigations required 1 year of supervisory experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
