Performs medical services under the direction of the manager of the clinic in addition to preparing and monitoring the patient. Provides a calm friendly and personable atmosphere for patients and families. Promotes a feeling of cooperation and concern when dealing with patients and families. Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Physician.
Education: High school diploma or GED. Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) preferred.
Experience: 6 months in EKG preferred; one year experience in physician office preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registration: AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Cardiac Tech MA or NA Certification preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications:Effective communication skills in order to work with the public. Computer skills to utilize database systems to perform job duties required. Must be able to problem-solve. Keyboarding required for automated computer systems including electronic medical records.
