Job Summary
Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Music Teacher
Location: Windham Academy Public Charter School
Position Type: Long-Term Substitute
Position Overview
Windham Academy Public Charter School is seeking a passionate and reliable Long-Term Substitute Music Teacher to provide high-quality music instruction during an extended absence. The Long-Term Substitute Music Teacher will support students musical development while maintaining a structured engaging and inclusive learning environment aligned with Windham Academys values and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging music instruction aligned with provided lesson plans curriculum goals and school expectations
Teach fundamental music concepts such as rhythm melody movement singing and music appreciation
Maintain consistent classroom routines and behavior expectations
Create a safe inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all students
Collaborate with classroom teachers support staff and administration as needed
Communicate student progress concerns and successes to administration
Supervise students during class time and transitions
Follow all school policies related to student safety confidentiality and professionalism
Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred
Experience teaching music to elementary and/or middle school students preferred
Background in music education performance or related field strongly preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to be flexible organized and dependable
Work Schedule
Full-time long-term assignment during the regular school day
April-June
