Position Purpose Summary:
Reporting to the Director Talent Acquisition the Talent Acquisition Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of high-quality efficient and consistent recruitment services across Social Mission Corps NRO and other hiring streams within The Salvation Army. This role focuses on quality and operational excellence team performance workflow management and ensuring timely and compliant hiring practices for high-volume frontline and community-based roles across the Territory.
Leading a team of talent acquisition professionals the Talent Acquisition Lead ensures the team meets service standards manages workload effectively and delivers proactive solution-focused support to hiring leaders and mission partners. This position plays a critical role in monitoring quality refining processes resolving escalations and ensuring reliable consistent recruitment outcomes aligned with organizational values and workforce needs.
This is a home office/remote position with territorial headquarters based in Toronto Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a team of talent acquisition professionals delivering recruitment services across Social Mission Corps and other operational units.
Oversee daily recruitment operations including workflow management requisition assignment and workload balancing based on volume urgency and team capacity.
Establish and uphold clear service standards operational expectations performance indicators and accountability frameworks.
Provide ongoing coaching performance management and professional development to strengthen team capability consistency and engagement.
Ensure quality compliance and consistency across recruitment processes in alignment with organizational policy accessibility standards and legislative requirements.
Monitor recruitment activity in Workday and ServiceNow including pipelines candidate movement timelines and issue resolution.
Conduct audits and identify operational risks inefficiencies and recurring hiring challenges; implement corrective actions and continuous improvements.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex recruitment issues service challenges and process bottlenecks.
Ensure clear timely communication with hiring leaders human resources and mission partners throughout the hiring lifecycle.
Build strong partnerships with HR teams and leaders sharing recruitment trends workload insights and operational improvements with TA leadership.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Completion of a College diploma or University degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field preferred
HR designations (RPR CHRP/CHRL) are assets
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Minimum 5 years of high-volume recruitment experience preferably with exposure to social services non-profit community programs and/or unionized environments
Minimum 2 years leading a recruitment team or operational function
Strong understanding of frontline hiring needs workload balancing and service delivery models
Experience using ATS systems (Workday preferred) ServiceNow and sourcing platforms
Strong leadership coaching and performance management capabilities
Excellent communication problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Able to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment
Strong working knowledge of current employment legislation leading best practices and DEI principles
Recruiting experience in large complex non-profit organizations preferred
Bilingual (English/French) preferred
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $81170.48 to $101463.10 with a maximum of $121755.72.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
